Bluberi Games , a company specializing in gaming technology and products, is expanding its services to Canada, with Alberta as its starting point. This initiative received significant support from Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC).
On April 4th, AGLC confirmed that all casinos in Alberta will feature Bluberi’s gaming products, including standout games like Devil’s Lock and Rocket Rumble. They emphasized that Bluberi’s extensive experience in the U.S. will facilitate a smooth and effective entry into the Canadian market. The anticipated launch of these games in Alberta casinos is slated for the spring season.
“Players in Alberta are eager for the freshest and most sought-after slot games, so bringing in Bluberi, a Las Vegas-based producer of electronic gaming machines, to enrich the gaming experience in our casinos and racing centers is indeed thrilling,” stated Steve Lautischer, Executive Vice President of Business Development at AGLC. “Not only will their slot machines heighten the entertainment value for players, but they will also align with AGLC’s mission of maintaining a socially responsible gaming environment.”
AGLC plans to collaborate closely with Bluberi to ensure that GameSense’s responsible gambling tools are incorporated from the outset, thus reinforcing the promotion of healthy gambling habits among the citizens of Alberta. This includes features like budgetary limits and regular activity check-ins. Moreover, GameSense advisors will be readily available at all Alberta casinos to assist guests with inquiries related to responsible gambling practices.
Based in Las Vegas, Bluberi already has established a foothold in Canada, featuring several game design studios across North America, such as locations in Quebec and New Brunswick. The Moncton, NB studio, known as Pixel Jam, was founded in 2023 under the leadership of seasoned game designer Frank Leger, who brings over 17 years of industry expertise.
Bluberi perceives itself as a blend of gaming and gambling, consistently striving to create player-focused slot machines by adhering to a “quality over quantity philosophy in game design,” as explained by Chief Product Officer Mike Brennan.
Funds generated from gaming activities in Alberta are directed to the provincial government, supporting essential programs and services. According to AGLC, the gaming sector contributed $1.5 billion to Alberta's general revenue fund in 2023.
